About the Bass Guitar
Invented by Paul Tutmarc and later popularized by Leo Fender. Four strings tuned EADG, one octave below guitar. The Precision Bass in 1951 changed popular music. James Jamerson defined electric bass playing on Motown records. Five and six string variants are common in modern music.
