About the Electric Violin
First experiments in the 1930s. No sound box, relies entirely on amplification. Five and six string models extend the range. Jean-Luc Ponty pioneered jazz electric violin. Lindsey Stirling brought it to YouTube fame. Used in rock, jazz, and electronic music. The solid body eliminates feedback at high volume.
