About the Quena
An Andean end-blown flute. No mouthpiece, blown across the open end. Over 3,000 years of Andean tradition. Usually made from bamboo. The notched embouchure creates the distinctive breathy tone. Six finger holes and one thumb hole. The sound evokes the Andean highlands.
