About the Bongos
A pair of small open-bottomed drums attached together. The macho is larger, the hembra smaller. Attached to the player with a strap. Played with fingers and palms. Used in salsa, Afro-Cuban jazz, and Latin music. The martillo pattern is the basic rhythm.
